in Visual Basic to test units (ABS braking electronics) using a PC and
instrumentation controlled via GPIB & VXI. Producing test specifications
from design requirements. Controlling the unit via serial, "Keyway
2000" and "CAN" links using test commands embedded in it’s
software. Writing instrument drivers in VB. Archiving all test results.
Commissioning hardware & software. Performing Measurement Systems Analysis
of test data.

Interface between ATM switch from NEC and a Siemens RNC, 3rd generation UMTS
standard mobile network system.

Basic to simulate the responses of instruments assist in the testing of
accuracy of a ballistic aiming mark controller. Using this to verify embedded
software. Adapting programmes in 'C' and hardware design for new products.
Designing hardware & software for a video overlay unit for a thermal
imager, software in 'C' and also hardware design, including complex logic
programming devices. Modifying a laser warning device software in PLM. One week
visit to USA to integrate system with subcontractors element.

Commissioning a
system to test a diesel fuel pump monitor using LabWindows, VXI & GPIB
instruments. Also commissioning a system to simulate the electrical signals
from parts of an engine.

Designed and
developed an Automated Surface Roughness Measurement Scanning System.
Interfacing between a PC and stepper drivers, ADC, LVDT transducer etc. using
FORTRAN.
Gardiner Technology

Programming an
in-house ATE system consisting of PC, GPIB bus and Labwindows, designing test
boxes and procedures for new products. Advising on cost effective methods to
reduce test times, manufacturing costs etc.
Programming
a Teradyne Zehntel ATE system and Dynapert pick & place machine.
Implemented
"design for manufacture" and "design for test" principles
in liaison with R & D department to increase manufacturing through-put and
reducing subsequent manufacturing costs.
